UGC-SHODH SHUDDHI PROJECT: In compliance with the UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations 2018 (Gazette of India 31/07/2018), the university released notifications for Academic Integrity and Anti-Plagiarism on 30/11/2019, 28/10/2021, and 25/08/2022 to curb plagiarism in research.
The department has successfully worked to curb plagiarism by liaising with the Research Section and with technical support from the UGC-INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Dr. Ashwini Tiwari, Librarian I/c, performs this role as the Coordinator (UGC-SHODHGANGA, Shodh Gangotri, Anti-Plagiarism).

Plagiarism Checking: DrillBit Online Plagiarism Detection Software
The UGC facilitated the URKUND (Ouriginal, Germany) Plagiarism Detection System (from September 2019 to September 2023) and DrillBit (from October 2023) through technical support from the INFLIBNET Centre (Inter-University Centre of the UGC), Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This system helps curb plagiarism in compliance with the UGC Gazette Notification July 2018.
This online software is provided to all supervisors since the University's Notification no. 53884, 30 November 2019. Technical support is provided by the Coordinator (UGC-SHODHGANGA, Shodh Gangotri, Anti-Plagiarism) via the dedicated email: [email protected]. AnyDesk online support is also provided to various supervisors and research scholars.
The UGC-INFLIBNET Centre actively works to curb plagiarism and organizes online training programs. During the online training program on 17 August 2020, our university was appreciated as Number One in the state for using the URKUND Plagiarism Detection System. Screenshots from the Centre are available as evidence of this achievement.
