Ph.D. - Environmental Science As per the Ordinance 124
A candidate for admission to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) must have obtained the Masters degree with at least 55 percent marks at the postgraduate examination of the University or an equivalent examination recognized by the University in the subject or any allied subject in which he/she wishes to pursue research. If the candidate secures less than 55 percent marks at the postgraduate examination but has secured second division at postgraduate as well as degree level, he/she will be eligible for admission to Ph.D. Programme.
The candidate seeking admission in Ph.D Programme are advised to go through the ordinance No. 124 relating to the degree of Ph.D. A seprate advertisement (Admission Notice) will appear in the state level newspapers for RET only on the availability of seats and admission to the Ph.D. Programme in various subjects offered by the University.

Ph.D. - Microbiology As per the Ordinance 124

The faculty may have a maximum of 16 Ph.D. students at any particular time. The vacancies for which are announced separately by the Research Section of the University. Interested candidate must go through the Ordinance 124 for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophyof the University and O.124.7 for the eligibility for admission to Ph.D. program. In light of O.124.8 point 3.1 to 3.4 for Interdisciplinary Research, the Department promotes interdisciplinary research. Thus any post graduate student fulfilling criteria of O.124.7 can join the department for Ph.D. especially (but not restricted to) from the subjects of Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology (Cytology), Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Genetic Engineering, Synthetic Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, Medical Sciences, Pathology, Plant Pathology, Veterinary Sciences, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Applications, Bioinformatics, Economics, Sociology and Management Studies.

About M.Sc. Environmental Science
M.Sc. Environmental Science is a program of learning under modular Choice Based Credit System that allows a student exist points after successful completion of each semester. If the student is successful till the exit point s/he desires to leave at, s/he will be awarded PG Certification/Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Degree. Such student may return back within two years of exit to seek lateral entry and complete the program. The minimum requirements for such provisions are as below.

Semester 1 (6 months, 20 credit) for PG Certification in Environmental Science
Semester 2 (1 Year, 40 credit) for PG Diploma in Environmental Science
Semester 3 (1.5 years, 60 credit) for Advance PG Certification in Environmental Science
Semester 4 (2 years, 80 credit) for M.Sc. Environmental Science.
