Department of Microbiology

The program is modular allowing exit after each semester, successful completion of which will earn:

• PG Certificate in Basic Microbiology (Minimum 1 semester)
• PG Diploma in Microbiology (Minimum 2 semesters)
• Advanced PG Diploma in Microbiology (Minimum 3 semesters)
• M.Sc. in Microbiology (Minimum 4 Semesters)

On successful completion of requirements, a student will earn the degree of M.Sc. Microbiology and may obtain specialization in the following fields:

1. Biochemistry and Physiology of Microorganisms,
2. Microbiology of Extremes
3. Microorganisms Diversity and Ecology
4. Molecular Biology
5. Environmental Microbiology & Biotechnology
6. Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology
7. Biofuel & Bioenergy
8. Medical Microbiology

Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in B.Sc./B.Sc. (Hons./B.Sc. B.Ed.) in any discipline of Biology or B.Sc.(Ag.)

About M.Sc. Biotechnology

• Advanced PG Diploma in Biotechnology (Minimum 3 semesters)

On successful completion of requirements, a student will earn the degree of M.Sc. Biotechnology and may obtain specialization in the following fields:

2. Plant Biotechnology

4. Medical Biotechnology
